Ed, I will forever be in your debt for taking me under your wing and working with me when I first hit the Valley. I don't need to elaborate. Every time I pick up my bass there's a bit of you there!

Ed , good to see you still tearing it up after all this time . I was surfing around and got lonesome for the Keys ,I've been gone from there for almost ten years now , but I have Never had a birthday/St patties day massacree and blues jam as we did at Key Colony Inn . I cooked a literal ton of corn beef , then stayed up all night drinking with you , Harry , and . Junior . St Pat's was a rough day after that.
Hope all is going well and we get to meet again . I'll be on the road about june or julysnd will check back to see what's going on with You then , peace my friend ;

Was in a bar last night on Cape Cod when Al Fortin came in. My buddies and I got talking about Al and music when one of them mentioned he spends a lot of time in western MA and tries to see this "blues guy" every chance he has. Of course, the "blues guy" he mentioned was a guy named Ed Vadas. It almost blew me away as I used to go over to a guys house in Amherst (or maybe Rte. 9 in Belchertown, not too clear on things back then) back in the early 70's and I swear his name was Ed Vadas! He gave me your web site and I've been blowing my mind ever since checking out your stuff. I promise to come check you out next time I'm out your way and if I can find you playing. Yeah, I still play too. Can't stop the blues. Keep the faith.

Nice to see you're still playing, great to read your words of wisdom -- they should be required reading for anyone who has the desire to play out. The Keys miss you and wish you'd come back at least once more. Great to hear from you, too! -JB

Hi Ed, I'm glad your not dead or doing talk radio or something equally as vicious. I saw you 30 some years ago when you were more or less a staple at the Marbledale Pub for a period of 4 or 5 months. Jeanette, who was the object of a few of your comments, and I tried to catch you every time you played but then you just disappeared. Thank God that the internet really does have a use because tonight I was googling (whatever that is) blues players of history when I thought I would try to see if you still existed. Obviously you do and I can't begin to tell you how great I feel. You were...are.. one of the great musicians in (at least ) local America. Keep me informed of your whereabouts. I and more than a few others down here would love to see you play again. You used to do a great version of Walking Blues or Madison Blues if my mind still holds up. Aura's son , John, is the manager at Marbledale Pub and fills in at their other place in Danbury,Widow Brown's. He's the one to contact at Marbledale.I've been on a personal crusade to bring bands and musicians together with places that still play live music in Conn. I'd like to introduce your playing to a few places if you don't mind.I'd also like to see you play again. Where are you playing for the next few months? Your Up Coming Gigs page was empty or is this just your way of being the same joking Vast Ed that I had come to know years ago? Marbledale is again having music more and more often. The Return Of Vast Ed is in my mind now. You have my e-mail so please keep me informed. You were a great act then and can only have gotten better. You may not remember me or Jeanette (Aura's sister) but we had gotten married years later and years later yet had gotten divorced but are on great terms since now we don't have to listen to each other. I'm telling her that I found you on the internet and will keep her informed of your activities if I can get you playing down here somewhere.Do you have a press kit or anything that I might be able to show people or direct them to your site? This past year I managed to get to the Riverhead Blues Fest on Long Island and you should definitely send them something or let them know you are alive and well. You would kill' em and fit right in.Great seeing that you're still active and playing great music, Ed. Best wishes and I hope to see you soon. Kurtis

Ed was, and to this day I believe STILLthe only player to make Tobacco Road in Miami, FLA walls sway. I should know; I played next door at a place called SHAGNASTY'S...
I can sit and listen to his playing anytime...best to you Ed

I love the Keep It Real article. For me, the Blues is a celebration of life. Sometimes ya wanna yell, "Hell yeah!" and other times you wanna yell "Hell no!". That's what does it for me. And yes, everyone should have at least one Strat!

I just followed the link from your profile at Blindman's Blues Forum, and what a breath of fresh air! Love your philosophy of life and music. It's all about being who you really are in that moment, and not about the number of notes you can spew forth from your chosen axe. It gives me hope as a sometime musician (my day gig is a teacher, another honorable profession). If I treat my craft respectfully and stay true to what I have experienced in this life, that's about all you can ask for. Thanks, and see you on the forum and elsewhere!
