Ed Vadas: Photos-old and new
gigs and players
- Solo at the Basement (Northampton, MA)

- Ed, Seymore Duncan, Joe Blumenthal, Steve Toutant "Jr.". Joe had Seymore Duncan for a workshop at Downtown Sounds and had Jr. and I back him up for a set at an evening reception.

- Tom Filiault, great player, friend and member of the human race, lasted about a thousand gigs as a HW before leaving the road behind.

- Fritz Richmond, King of the washtub once quoted as saying his dream was to play a Quonset hut using a telephone pole and steel cable.

- "Where do I put my fingers?"

- King Biscuit was a high light in many ways.

- I have to admit, I loved Spider Johns funkyness.

- Black Eyed Sally's (Hartford CT) Took a heavy hitter like Gary C. to crack this gig open.

- June of 1993 I don't know where. Would you by a used car from this man?

- About 1970 Electric Blues Band days at the Notch Trail Inn where we recorded 45 RPM disc. Would you buy weed from this man?

- What can I say, I like this shot! Would you buy a CD from this man?

- Washtub Charlie (fOGEL) Music and Madness Trio - always wanted to be a musician. I told him if he believed that jug band instruments were real, and if he applied musical techniques to them he would become a musician. He did and was!

- Main Stage, King Biscuit Blues Festival was the jewel in the crown for me, having Sunshine Sunny Paine introduce us and rave us up in his festival review was great! Midway in HELP ME realizing Sonny Boy's radio show site was 100 feet away was chilling!

- Ed and James Cotton jawin' after the gig at SBI. James and I have over thirty years played a number of gigs on the same bill. A friend once commented, "The 2 best live shows I have seen were James Cotton twice. " (about 1971)

- James Cotton and Gary "Lightnin Rod" Coppola. We can only imagine whatJames is thinking. Gary is the most driven harp student I have ever had. He got to be a good harp player, and a great friend. Who influences who more about what, is the question.

- People often ask if Junior is my son. He isn't, but if I were to have one, I'd be proud if he were like Junior. He has played over 1500 gigs first as bass player, now as a musical partner and friend. A wonderful musician.
